COST OF A KANSAS CITY, KANSAS FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY & PAYMENT PLANS
How much will it cost you to hire an Overland Park, Kansas family law attorney? You will likely find out that fees vary from office-to-office. Attorney T. Morton cautions you to remember that higher (or lower) fees don't necessarily mean you will get the attorney you need or want.
So let's talk about fees. First, you must understand that depending on the complexity of your case, the fees may vary. Second, remember there is no fee, or obligation, for a 20 minute consultation. Finally, at the end of your consultation you will likely know your fixed-rate initial fee. After review of your case the additional fixed rate fee will cover all services necessary for your case, up to trial/hearing, and any exceptions will be discussed. Should your case go to hearing, there will be additional fees. If your case is, or becomes, more complex than initially disclosed the fee may also increase. The initial fee is fixed and non-refundable because efforts and resources devoted to your case, and/or conflicts of interest inherent in said matter, may preclude your attorney from accepting other engagements. To your benefit, you will no what your case costs and have time to fulfill the payments. Here are some of the starting rates:
